We have just returned from 3 weeks motorbike touring in the USA, and once again 'thank you' for your cooling vests. Riding through Death Valley at 45C we kept comfortably cool, and 10 days later in the Colorado Rockies we were riding in temps of -7C (and altitudes of 11,500 ft) and were using the vests dry as an extra layer of warming clothing. Great all
round.
We spent approx 2 weeks of temps around 38C to 40C each day, through California, Nevada, Arizona (yes, Route 66), and Utah, then a week of ccoolldd in Colorado, and we used the evaporative vests most days. Great products, and we strongly recommend them.
Kind regards

I bought the following product from you just prior to going to Korea last August; Ladies Classic Vest - Silver. I have struggled to cope with the heat each summer since migrating to Australia twenty years ago and I had been worried about
going to Korea to work in the height of their summer. I just wanted to let you know that your product was a great success for me. I really would count it as one of the best products I have bought. It wasn’t cheap, but it was worth every penny (or cent rather!).
It really reduced my heat stress to a manageable level. Most of the other people I was with in Korea were Korean Americans but I was able to handle the heat better than they did with my vest on! I must have worn the vest every day for about two months. It washed out beautifully both by hand and machine. I got back to Australia after summer, but I
am sure next summer I will be wearing my vest. It will allow me to go out on days that I would not normally leave the house on due to the heat. I just wish I had discovered your website sooner! I also really appreciated the excellent service you provided when you sent me two sizes to try on, trusting me to return one of them, whilst only charging
me for one.

Thanks for your prompt, efficient and friendly service each time I have called you to buy a Silver Eagle Cooling Vest.
These vests are terrific for motorcyclists who ride in the hotter months in Australia.
I bought one last summer for my wife. We ride a fair bit each summer including long distance IronButt type events and on several occasions she has suffered badly in the high temperatures. Last January a group of us were riding along the Murray Valley in temperatures in the high forties. The three guys in the group were suffering badly but my wife, wearing her Silver Eagle Cool vest under her jacket, was very comfortable.
The vest's performance was so remarkable that when we got home I ordered one for myself. I have used mine frequently since and am amazed that something so simple, simply works so well. I was so pleased that I bought one for my son as a birthday gift. He is also thrilled with the difference it makes on a long hot ride. We are planning a 24 hour ride in January 2007 and as we expect extreme temperatures our Silver Eagle Vests are a critical part of our survival plan.

We (my wife Zea and I) have been using your Silver Eagle evaporative vests when motorbiking here in SE Qld through summer, and find them great. Last Sunday we did a ride to Tenterfield for lunch (300k's each way), and were cool and comfortable even in the 35-degree heat. So easy to 'recharge' too.

On Sunday, 04 December, 2004, I was at Maitland Markets dressed as Santa.
I was wearing the Utility Khaki Vest. I showed two Stall Holders how easy it was to activate. I had a 500ml Bottle filled with Chilled Water and just squirted the Vest all over in it's plastic bag.
After the 15mins, I took it out, squeezed it out and put it on under my Padding & Suit. During the day, the Shed's temperature went up to 26 Degrees C. BUT in the Suit, with Padding, Beard & Wig, it would've been closer to 30 Degrees C. A fan helped but I was asked repeatedly by perspiring People coming into the Shed, whether I was HOT? I was surprised by this, because I felt comfortable and felt like that for the Four Hours. Usually, I would drink a lot of water, even on a 'mild' day, like 26 Degrees C, as I was a lot hotter in the Costume, but I didn't drink any until I finished. So, I think that it REALLY worked.
Earlier in the month, on Wednesday 01 December, 2004 it was very hot, in the mid 30's with high humidity and I went down the Hill to my Mothers and was comfortable. I was hot, but the water kept me hydrated and I 'topped up' by squirting the Bottle inside the Vest on my skin and rubbing it in.
Playing some Social Tennis today, I wore first the Cap under my Cap from Midday and l wore the Vest from our Lunch Break at 2pm, until 3:30pm. I was hot, but hydrated and the Easterly Sea Breeze came up and I found myself lifting my shirt to allow the Vest to interact with the Breeze. Of Course, by the end, I was more comfortable & active than the rest.
Again thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, Jeff Dunn
On Sunday, 19 December 2004, I went to Maitland Markets @ 9:30am.
It was hot & I was perspiring freely as was some friends that I met. I had to wipe my face a couple of times to apply make up.
I got dressed and was comfortable throughout the 4 and a half hours. I didn't drink any of the water I brought until after I had finished as I wasn't thirsty - not like other years, when I would drain my Water Bottle, which was frozen when I arrived and would be gone or hot by 12 pm. I was asked over & over again by a procession of hot people, whether I was hot?
My Photographer told some of them that I was wearing a Hi Tech Vest and one, came over & felt my shoulder and exclaimed, " You're cold!" All through the day, I felt the heat on my arms and my Cushion and the Seat of my trousers were Drenched, but my I was not stressed and my torso was cool and Dry.
I was approached by another stall holder who was feeling the Heat and asked my Photographer about how could I cope with the Heat? He explained why and I told her about the Silver Eagle Cooling Vest. She was interested about it and when I got undressed, I showed her the Vest.
At 2pm, when I got undressed , all my 'civilian' clothes and everything I touched in the Shed was hot, like being in an oven, out in the Roasting Sun and I was surprised as I had felt comfortable in the Vest, just like I feel in my Superdown Sleeping bag in the bush in Winter and when I get out of that, I find that I was very comfortable and insulated against the Weather's extreme. I wasn't sweating and my top wasn't wet and I didn't have any sweat running into my eyes OR from my armpits. After packing up everything, I did a quick 'touch-up' by squirting some of my cold water between my skin & vest and patting myself down, which kept me comfortable until we left at 3pm. The Weather Bureau said that the Temperature reached 36 Degrees, before the Storms in the late Afternoon. The Temperatures taken in the Tin Shed from the last two markets:
Sunday 5 December 2004 Time Temp deg c 0955 19 1030 20 1145 22 1245 22 1300 23 1330 25 1345 26 | Sunday 19 December 2004 Time Temp degc 1125 28 1225 31 1305 32 1325 32.5 1400 33 |
Without the Vest, it would've been at least 2 Degrees warmer in my Suit with Padding.
Thank you, Silver Eagle. Sincerely, Jeff Dunn.
Silver Eagle Outfitters, Australia, gave me a hard hat liner, a dew-rag and a cap to trial mid summer because working as a carpenter in the Australian summer is a hot and sweaty job. The blokes on the job were constantly asking me "what is that you're wearing"? In the end, I gave each of them a turn of wearing my cooling headwear. It was easily activated by running under water and kept me cool for hours. Now during the colder months, I use it for warmth under my hard
hat. I recommend them for anyone who wears a hard hat or helmet. My mates have just placed an order. I think those hard hat liners are fantastic. Thank you Silver Eagle! Reg Melbourne - Australia
"As Chief Paramedic for the Medical Transportation Service and Regional Transportation Coordinator, I am confronted with the challenge of keeping EMS and rescue personnel safe and fit to respond. The use of cooling garments made of Hydroweave has allowed rescue, recovery, and observation personnel to increase productivity and decrease fatigue." Hershel E. Zettler Chief, Medical Transportation Service Fort Benning, GA
I have high functioning autism and with so many people with autism, I am frequently hot. I have tried walking around in wet clothes before (too noticeable) and the vests with ice packs (uncomfortable). Nothing worked. I thought I would give your products a try. They are both great. I really like the hat a lot. I used to wet regular baseball caps but they dripped or dried out too fast. This is great!! I even wear it in the workplace (an office) and I was very cool all
day. You should really reach out more to the autistic community, I know many many more would benefit from your products. Marty Murphy
It works splendidly. You are to be congratulated. I would recommend adding a little tip to your FAQs: After the vest is soaked, roll it in a towel to get rid of the excess. Works a treat. Scott - Spain
I am delighted with the light weight and comfort of my new Silver Eagle vest. I have been wearing it while hiking in the southern reaches of the Appalachian mountains this fall. Since the weather is cool, I wear the vest primarily for warmth. It maintains a comfortable temperature, does not bind or pull across the shoulders, and provides an attractive appearance. I am looking forward to wearing the Silver Eagle vest in the cooling mode next summer. Marion Lewis
We've been extremely pleased with the vests. I was concerned that the vest would leave me with a "wet t-shirt" look if I wanted to take it off to go into a restaurant or store. But I found that it hasn't, thank goodness! Chris Rainbolt
This vest is Great!! It works so well to keep you cool. Glenda Brooks Searcy, Arkansas
I used the cooling blanket for one of my heat stress patients and it worked superbly! I can document a core temperature DROP of 4 degrees within 15 minutes and complete recovery. Here is the back ground. A test subject, a superbly conditioned male, 25 years old, heart rate monitor attached, rectal temperature probe, and VO2 Max monitor attached, worked out on a tread mill in the water in 99(F) water for 50 minutes. His core temperature climbed to 103.8 and he got nauseas and weak. We immediately removed him from the water and attached a read out monitor to him while applying the cooling blanket. His initial core temp went UP after coming out of the water as the pool deck temp is
actually 110(F). He was very pale weak, and vomited twice, he could barely stand and his vital signs were 113/58, HR 140, core temp 104.1. After placing him at rest and applying the blanket, within 3 minutes he lost 2 degrees and his blood pressure returned to normal. He was no longer nauseas and was able to drink fluids. After 15 minutes his core temp was returned to normal (98.8), and vital signs 118/76 pulse 72. All of this data is on record. I was concerned about placing a cold blanket on such a hot patient but the patient stated the heat seemed to flow away not be SHOCKED away. The patient made a full recovery! Great product!
What Workers Have to Say:The following are excerpts from a 19 January 2004 memorandum issued by the Department of the Army Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma Test Center, Yuma, Arizona: Purpose: An ongoing test is being conducted on 30 cooling vests supplied by Silver Eagle Outfitters at YTC. The cool vests were issued to a group of vehicle operators and gunners in August/September 2003.
Evaluation Results: A total of twenty-four vests and five hats were issued. All wearers reported reduction in heat stress when wearing the vest. Outside temperatures were above 100ºF. The inside of most armoured vehicles when driven in the sun is a minimum of 10ºF hotter. Significant cooling was reported even during high-humidity days (50% or greater). The cooling effect was more significant when a light wind was blowing, but the vest… needed more frequent soakings. All participants reported the vest comfortable to wear and easy to use. Conclusion: A significant reduction in heat stress was reported when wearing the vests and hats. All of the participants reported the equipment comfortable and continue to wear when needed… It is recommended that the [Silver Eagle] Cool Vests be available for all personnel not working in air-conditioned areas.
What Our Customers with MS Have to Say:Got the vest this morning and away I went. I've been telling everyone about your great products....This is wonderful...I have been telling everyone I meet and those I email and talk with on chat sites about your company and products and my vest. You just can't believe what a wonderful change it's made in my life... Thank you so much for your patience and love in working with me! God Bless your Company.... Marsha Matthews
Thank you for taking such good care of us! Our MS Society fundraiser/motorcycle ride is this weekend. The temperatures will be in the 90s. I'll be wearing my cooling vest and hat the entire weekend!! Jane and Roger Holm Lakeville MN
I love my vest. Very easy and fast to activate, and it kept me cool the entire 4 hours I had it on and would probably have kept me cooler much longer than that. It was also very comfortable and I was able to wear it under my T-shirts without anyone knowing I had it on. I haven't had a chance to use the cap yet, but I am sure I will be pleased with that also. Thank you so much! Terri Degener
Thank you so much for your kind and prompt response to my plea for something to get me cooler this hot summer. I received the vest I ordered 5 days later along with the hat you included. Thank you for that. I am trying to talk my dad into getting one. I've had a chance to try out these products. While nothing can replace A/C or a cool breeze after the rain, it does help to provide a wider range of safe temperatures for me. I have to pour water on them more often out here in our arid climate than in most places. The cap is dry twice before I get back from an hour horse ride. But it's easy to carry water, turn it inside out, and slosh more water around. Keeps my brain from frying. It lasts longer, of course, if I'm not in the direct
sun. At 9,000 feet, we have many extra challenges. I've passed the info along to several of my friends with MS. We're all miserable here on this exceptionally hot summer. This is a nice piece of extra insurance against disaster for us. Thanks again for your kindness, Sheri Perkins
